Reopen mental health facilities to ease violence

Text Size: AaAaAaAaAa

Gun violence topics will obviously be center stage for a while. The reasons why are well known and understandable, to a certain degree.

Our current violence problems are not limited to guns, and should have been easily predicted when government closed many mental health facilities to "save money."

Gun control may seem like the cheapest way out of the mess politicians have caused, but it will not be effective. We only need look to our neighbor to the south, to see the fallout of gun control. In Mexico, the only people with guns are corrupt police and deranged criminals. Citizens and tourists are forced to live in constant fear.

There is always a solution to every problem. Reopen all mental health facilities and provide staffing. Funding a problem? Not necessarily. For decades, the government has been wasting perhaps hundreds of millions annually to fund glacier worship. Global warming is their battle cry, and a receding chunk of ice in Greenland is their "proof.”

Non-grant scientists have noticed cycles of heating and cooling. Those cycles have naturally occurred for many tens of thousands of years, and have never been caused by humans. Recently on the TV news, it was reported that 2012 was the warmest year in history. What history? We have kept records only since the late 1800s.

The citizens of Greenland can now grow gardens again, and are thrilled. Crops have not been grown there for about 500 years because it got too cold.

It seems to me that a little diversion of funding is in order. Government can solve most of our current problems. It is all about priorities.
