The Newman Comets had the Prophets on the ropes for a half Thursday in Prophetstown, but fell 50-38 for the second loss to their Three Rivers rival in a week.
Newman (11-8, 7-2) led 8-3 after a quarter and 21-20 at half. The Prophets (19-3, 7-1) outscored Newman 18-9 in the third.
Rachel Hageman had 18 points for Newman.
Cassie Reiley scored 14 points for Prophetstown. Clare Kramer added 10.
Erie 45, Fulton 37: The Cardinals finished both halves strong to pull out a Three Rivers win in Erie.
Erie (14-5, 5-3) was outscored 13-6 in the third before outscoring the Steamers 14-6 in the fourth.
Laykin Miner paced Erie with 11 points, and Morgan Wierema led Fulton (6-15, 1-5) with 11.
Amboy 42, Bureau Valley 19: The Clippers won for the second time in three nights against the Storm, this time in Manlius.
Nicole Bornsheuer led BV with seven points and five rebounds.
Kewanee 64, Morrison 38: The Fillies trailed 26-10 after one quarter and couldn’t catch up in a Three Rivers road loss. Chelsea Eads scored 16 points to pace Morrison.
Oregon 49, Eastland 46: The Hawks made 10 of 12 free throw attempts in the fourth quarter to seal a nonconference win over Eastland at Lanark.
Sam Lambrigtsen had 17 points for Oregon (17-4), which trailed 27-24 at half. Emy Wright added 14 points.
Hannah Hake led Eastland (16-6) with 13 points.
Sterling 52, Rockford Christian 19: The Warriors blew open the game by outscoring Rockford Christian 11-1 in the second quarter at Musgrove Fieldhouse.
McKenna Pearson scored 11 points to pace the Warriors (11-10). Stephanie Kester had nine points, while Kiarra Harris added eight points and nine rebounds.
Durand 44, Polo 43: Aleetra Roberts put up a contested shot at the buzzer, but the Marcos fell in an NUIC East game in Polo.
Roberts had 26 points, 14 rebounds and three steals for the Marcos (4-12, 3-4). Keeley Meyer added eight points and 11 rebounds.
AFC 50, Orangeville 24: The Raiders led 33-15 at half and never looked back in an NUIC East home win.
Alisyn Essex scored 22 points for AFC (8-9, 1-6). Sarah Matson added 11 points for AFC, which also beat Mooseheart 48-4 on Wednesday.
Dixon 2,425, Rochelle 2,018: The Duchesses swept all 10 points from the Hubs at Plum Hollow.
Dixon’s Michaela Bates found the groove early with a high-game of 201 in the first game. She finished with the high series at 532. Kayla Bonnette followed with a 456 series.
Sycamore 3,207, Sterling 3,003: The Golden Warriors’ conference title hopes came to an end in a loss to the Spartans at the Four Seasons in Sycamore.
Destinee Howard’s 262 second game propelled her to a meet-high 607 series for Sterling (6-2 NIB-12), while Brandy Behrens (535) and Amber Granzow (527) both added 500+ series.
Sycamore took all 10 points in the dual. Kayla Webb rolled a 604 series and 225 high game for the Spartans.
