Comets, Thunder sweep wrestling triangulars
The Dixon boys bowling team eclipsed 4,000 pins in a three-game series for the first time in more than 4 years in a 4,014-3,481 win over Rochelle on Thursday at Plum Hollow.
The Dukes, who won the NIB-12 tournament on Monday, were led by Andrew Hamburg’s 717. Hamburg and Lucas Bonnette tied for high game with 258. Hamburg also had games of 205 and 254. Bonnette finished with a series of 696. All six bowlers had 600-plus series.
Contributing to the victory were Connor Allen (665), Josh Rex (663), Brandon Bonnette (649) and Ryan Dixon (624).
