Chicago man faces drug charges

ROCK FALLS – A Chicago man is facing felony drug charges after Rock Falls police served a search warrant at the Napp Inn in Rock Falls.

Police said Corriun Easley, 24, was charged with unlawful possession of cocaine with the intent to deliver and unlawful possession of cocaine. The search took place at 4 a.m. Jan. 7.

Easley was taken to the Whiteside County Jail. His bail was set at $75,000.

Easley pleaded guilty in 2008 to drug possession and resisting a police officer, and in 2011 to drug possession, according to court records.

On pensions, Bivins and GOP far apart

Sen. Tim Bivins, R-Dixon, joined with many of his fellow Senate Republicans this week to reject a pension bill sponsored by Democratic Senate President John Cullerton of Chicago. The measure passed 40-16. Bivins had a different reason for his no vote.
