YWCA registration is on for MLK peace art contest

STERLING – Registration is due by Tuesday for a free peace visual arts contest in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.

Entries will be shown, and winners announced, during a program from 5 to 6 p.m. Jan. 20 at First Presbyterian Church of Sterling, 410 Second Ave. All entries must be original works of art about Martin Luther King Jr., peace, or nonviolence.

Artists can use any visual medium, such as photography, sculpture, painting, drawings, and digital art. Categories include grade school, middle school, high school and adult.

Registration forms are available at the YWCA of the Sauk Valley, 412 First Ave. Call the YWCA at 815-625-0333 for more information.
