Outdoor adventures: Local series put on hold, but many other tourneys on the docket

It seems as though this dry spell we are in just does not want to end. Every once in a while, the forecast looks good, and I start to think we may get into a wet run and put the drought behind us.

But every time it looks good, nothing happens. Maybe there’s a few sprinkles of rain or a dusting of snow, but that’s it.

This severe lack of water has forced me to reconsider many things for the upcoming season, the first of which is the Monsters of the Rock catfish series. I have decided to put the series on hold for the 2013 season. I just can’t justify taking sponsors’ money when I know the low water will severely limit attendance. It was obvious last year the water was extremely detrimental to the series.
