Lorena K. Wallace

WALNUT – Lorena K. Wallace, 84, of Walnut, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at Walnut Manor Nursing Home. She worked for Grennan and Harmon Elevator for many years. 

She was born Nov. 29, 1928, in New Bedford, the daughter of Alfred and Dollie (Johnston) Jensen. She married Marvin Wallace on March 14, 1948, in New Bedford. He preceded her in death on Nov. 17, 2001.

Survivors include three sons, Jerry (Chris) Wallace of Champaign, Jim (Madolyn) Wallace of LaMoille, and Jeff (Sally) Wallace of Walnut; one daughter, Judy Patton of San Diego; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Opal Smith of Lyndon; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Les Baumgartner of Walnut. 

She also was preceded in death by her parents; one great-grandson; five brothers; and one sister in infancy.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Garland Funeral Home in Walnut. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Christian Church in Walnut, with the Rev. Brian Moore, pastor, officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded after the service. Burial of ashes will be at a later date at Walnut Cemetery. 

Memorials have been established to First Christian Church in Walnut and Walnut Manor Nursing Home.
