Dona Pieschel Hubbard Baken

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. – Dona Pieschel Hubbard Baken, 85, of Eden Prairie, Minn., formerly of Dixon, passed away Friday, Dec. 28, 2012. She worked as a cytotechnologist for 25 years at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, Minn.

She was born in Jamestown, N.D., the daughter of Clarence and Lucille Pieschel. She married Bryce Hubbard. He preceded her in death. She later married Melvin Baken.

Survivors include her husband; her children and stepchildren, Karen, Lisa (Brad), Annie, Brant (Marilyn), Steve (De), Leslie (Mike), and Karin (Dan); nine grandchildren; and her sisters, Patricia (Walter) Lohse and Susan (Richard) Lawton.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, James Pieschel; and a son, Timothy.

A celebration of life gathering was Jan. 5 at Lake Minnetonka Shores in Spring Park, Minn.

A memorial has been established to Presbyterian Homes of Lake Minnetonka, Lake Minnetonka Shores, 4501 Shoreline Drive, Spring Park, MN 33384, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
