Couple charged with second area business burglary

MORRISON – A Chicago couple already charged with burglarizing a Dollar General store in Fulton also were charged Thursday with a similar theft in Morrison.

Stephen M. Sato, 32, and Julie Korotkov, 37, were in Whiteside County Jail on a $200,000 bond after being charged with burglary in the Fulton case; now each face an additional burglary charge.

The pair went into the Morrison Dollar General about 4:45 p.m. Jan. 3. While one distracted employees, the other went into the employee break room and stole two wallets, Morrison Police Chief Brian Melton said.
