Airport background is focus of program
FULTON – Author David Coopman will discuss his research work at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Windmill Cultural Center, 111 10th Ave.
Coopman's book, "Quad-City International Airport," was published in 2011, and details the facility's growth from a cow pasture to an international airport. The author will show black and white photos of planes and the people involved in the air history of the Quad Cities. Charles Lindbergh visited the airport in 1927. At that time, it was called Franing Field.
The event is free. Coffee, tea and a treat will be served before the program. The center is handicapped accessible.
