DIXON – Ronald Wesley “Boog” Lawson, 55, of Dixon, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his family. He worked as a laborer for Local 727.

Ronald was born Dec. 14, 1957, in Dixon, the son of Grant and Lavina (Helfrich) Lawson. He married Amy Stouffer on Feb. 14, 1991, in Dixon. He was a member of Harvest Time Bible Church in Rock Falls. Boog was an avid horse lover, raising them for many years. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of Dixon; one daughter, Chasity (Douglas) Dorathy of Tampico; one son, Michael Lawson of DeKalb; nine sisters, Dolly (Dave) Gugerty, Judy Kemp, Diana Lawson, Karen Lawson, Linda Daraska, Nancy (Steve) Smith, Connie Barone, Sue (Gene) Johnson, and Jane (Mark) Imfeld; four brothers, Charles (Joni) Lawson, Ray (Carol) Lawson, Dale (Dory) Lawson, and Jim (Debbie) Lawson; three grandchildren, Payton, Morgan and DJ; his in-laws, John and Audrey Nix and Bob Stouffer; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, William, Tom, John, and Tim Lawson.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m., with the family present from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Harvest Time Bible Church in Rock Falls, with the Rev. Dalmus Meeks, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Palmyra Cemetery in Dixon.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
