Mary T. Bickel March 25, 1926 – Jan. 9, 2013

LISLE – Mary T. Bickel (neé Sierzan), 86, of Lisle, formerly of Oldsmar, Fla., Sterling, and Elkhart, Ind., died at 1 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at her apartment with hospice care at The Devonshire of Lisle. 

She was born March 25, 1926, in Detroit, to William and Carrie Sierzan. She graduated from Constantine High School in Michigan. She was married to the “love of her life,” C. Robert “Bob” Bickel, on Aug. 12, 1946. They celebrated 60 years of marriage before his passing on Aug. 26, 2006.

She was employed by C.G. Conn and Selmer Instrument manufacturers in Elkhart, Ind., before her marriage. She moved to Sterling when her husband became the president of First National Bank of Sterling in 1963. They retired together to the Gulf Coast of Florida in 1983, and were members of Light of Christ Catholic Church in Clearwater, Fla., before she moved in 2011 to The Devonshire of Lisle.
