DIXON – Harland Chamberlain, 91, of Dixon, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at KSB Hospital in Dixon. He was a lifelong farmer, retiring in 2000.

Harland was born May 26, 1921, in Tampico, the son of Clayton and Ella (Hickey) Chamberlain. He married Ruth Meyer on Jan. 15, 1946, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling. Harland was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dixon.

Survivors include his wife of Dixon; children, Mark (Pat) Chamberlain of Bloomington, Theresa (Mike) Sliva of West Chicago, Doris (Rich) Griffin of Palos Park, Jim (Lydia) Chamberlain of St. Louis, Marilyn Sutton, Sue (Tom) Henkel, Nancy (Mark) Finnicum, and Karen Chamberlain, all of Dixon, Joan (Joe) Kreps of Sterling, Janet (Michael) Kagan of Rockford, Sharon (Darrell) Thomas of Louisville, Ky., Tom (Beth) Chamberlain of Danville; 37 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Chamberlain; a granddaughter; and a brother, Kenneth Chamberlain.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., with the rosary recited at 7:30 p.m., Friday at Jones Funeral Home in Dixon. Prayer service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dixon, with the Rev. Bernard Sehr officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon.

A memorial has been established to Misericordia, 6300 N. Ridge Ave., Chicago, IL 60660.
