DIXON – The city’s Tourism Board is willing to participate in talks about uniting with Dixon Main Street and the Riverfront Commission.

A few efforts at such a merger, including one last spring, have failed, but the idea was revisited Tuesday at a Riverfront meeting. A public meeting with representatives from each organization is expected to be scheduled for later this month.

Tourism Board President Vicky Turner said the idea will be introduced again to its members at next Monday’s meeting. Turner has not been approached by any of the groups regarding the idea, nor has she had a chance to speak to her board members about it.
