STERLING – Sheila J. Gallentine, 60, of Sterling, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at her home. She had been employed as a licensed practical nurse before her illness.
She was born May 24, 1952, in Morrison, the daughter of Clarence W. and June E. (Snyder) Deets.
Survivors include her daughter, Lyndsey; her stepdaughters, Gretchen (Paul) Rahn of Sterling and Jamie (Gary) Wagenknecht of Milledgeville; three stepsons, Brian Gallentine of Chicago, Brad (Tearra) Gallentine of Milledgeville and Greg (Chris) Gallentine of Sterling; her brother, Robert (Marilyn) Deets of Sterling; her sisters, Sue (Dave) Gammon of McFarland, Wis., Sally (Gail) Schreiner of Rock Falls and Sheri Roberts of Rock Falls; special friend, Larry Oviatt of Sterling; 13 stepgrandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Gail Deets and Donald Deets.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10:45 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11 a.m., Wednesday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sterling, with the Rev. Mark Ohlert, pastor, officiating. McDonald Funeral Home in Sterling handled arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
