Rollin A. Heaton Jr.
PROPHETSTOWN – Rollin A. Heaton Jr., 82, of 307 N. Jackson St., Morrison, formerly of Prophetstown, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at Morrison Community Hospital.
He was born Jan. 8, 1930, in Galva, the son of Rollin A. and Mabel (Nelson) Heaton. He attended Kewanee grade schools and graduated from Kewanee High School. He graduated from Western Illinois University in Macomb with his bachelor’s degree, and from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb with his master’s degree in secondary education.
He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He married Barbara L. Krumtinger on July 11, 1953, in Kewanee. She preceded him in death on Dec. 17, 2007. Rollin taught business in the Prophetstown/Lyndon high schools, and was the golf and basketball coach. He also worked at Climco in Morrison.
