New books, crafts, and more in Franklin Grove

FRANKLIN GROVE – “Ice Age: Continental Drift” will be shown from 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 25 during movie night at Franklin Grove Library, 112 S. Elm St.

Craft and Game Day will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon Jan. 26. Parental supervision is required for children younger than 8 for both activities.

New Books at the library are: “Threat Vector,” by Tom Clancy; “Private London,” by James Patterson; “Shiver,” by Karen Robards; “Agenda 21,” by Glenn Beck; “Two Graves,” by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child; “Cross Roads,” by William Paul Young; “A Dead Man’s Tale,” by James D. Doss; “Shadow Creek,” by Joy Fielding; “Rising Sun,” by Robert Conroy; “No Rest For the Dead,” by Sandra Brown et al.; and “Nano,” by Robin Cook.

New DVDs on the shelves are “Men in Black 3,” “Paranorman,” “The Dark Knight Rises,” “The Expendables 2,” and “The Odd Life of Timothy Green.”

Wise saw collapse in support

Last week, Sterling Alderwoman Amy Viering attended her last meeting as a city official. She gave the usual praise one hears at such departures. But one compliment stuck out. At the end of her speech, she turned to City Administrator Scott Shumard and said, "You're awesome."
