Police seeking information on Dollar General thieves

MORRISON – Morrison police are asking for help identifying a man and woman they believe stole employees’ wallets at Dollar General.

The theft may be related to similar Dollar General burglaries in Fulton on Dec. 31 and in Port Byron on Thursday, they said in a release.

The two entered Dollar General at 4:45 p.m. Thursday. One distracted employees while the other went into the break room, took the wallets and left the store, the release said.

Stolen credit cards later were used in Clinton, Iowa, and possibly in the Quad Cities area, the release said.

The woman is white, 5 feet 2 inches tall, 120 to 130 pounds with long dark hair and in her mid- to late-40s. She was wearing a long trench coat.

The man is Asian, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 140 to 150 pounds and in his mid- to late-30s. He was wearing a black dress jacket and glasses.

They appear to be driving a newer model, possibly 2012, silver four-door Chevrolet Impala with custom wheels and Iowa plates.

Anyone with information is asked to call Morrison police at 815-772-7659 or Whiteside County Crime Stoppers at 877-625-7867. Callers will remain anonymous, and information that leads to an arrest could bring a $1,000 reward.
