Boys roundup: Thunder's Casey, Hawks' Sklavanitis earn honors at Polo
Two local wrestlers win MVP
Paced by a pair of MVP performances from Jeff Casey and Brandon Sklavanitis, the West Carroll and Oregon wrestling teams finished second and third, respectively, at the Polo Invitational on Saturday.
Glenbard North’s JV team won with 185 points, 15 more than the Thunder. The Hawks were next with 158 in the 18-team tourney.
Casey was voted the lower-weights MVP after taking the title at 126 pounds. West Carroll also got a title from Zach Hartman at 132.
