Annual bell-ringer fest Feb. 23

SPRINGFIELD – Handbell ringers will demonstrate their skills Feb. 23 at the 25th annual Handbell Festival in the gymnasium at First United Methodist Church, 2941 S. Koke Mill Road.

The festival is presented by the Illinois Great Rivers Conference Chapter of the Fellowship of United Methodists in Music and Worship Arts. The daylong event is open to handbell choirs and individual ringers, throughout the Midwest.

The clinician will be Christine D. Anderson, artist in residence at The Master’s College in Santa Clarita, Calif. She founded, and still performs with, the Medallion Ringers, a professional four-in-hand handbell quartet.
