Six candidates will be interviewed for superintendent post

ROCK FALLS – The Rock Falls High School board will interview six candidates for superintendent in three special meetings Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

The closed sessions will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, 6:30 p.m. Sunday, and 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The board then will meet Thursday and Friday to discuss the candidates and possibly choose finalists. Those meetings also will be closed sessions, beginning at 1:30 p.m. both days.

Superintendent Jane Eichman announced her retirement in September. Her last day will be June 28.

Eichman has been a superintendent 10 years: 7 at Rock Falls High School and 3 at East Coloma School. She has been in education 40 years.

The district advertised the position in October and accepted applications through early December. The board plans to hire a new superintendent by Jan. 23, according to the ad for the position.
