PROPHETSTOWN – Ruth L. Danielson, 96, of Prophetstown, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.

She was born May 19, 1916, in Malden, to Sherman and Minnie (Mills) Watson. Ruth was educated in the Malden Grade School and attended Malden High School.

She married Harry W. Danielson on Dec. 8, 1935, in Malden. He preceded her in death Jan. 14, 2003.

Ruth was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church in LaMoille, where she served as a deaconess. She later became a member of Advent Christian Church in Prophetstown and volunteered in the church nursery. She also was a member of AARP.

Survivors include one daughter, Dorothy (Jim) Duffield of Prophetstown; one granddaughter; and four great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by an infant son; three sisters, Irene Steele, Geneva Johnson and Mary Elizabeth Watson; three brothers, Jim, Earl and Harold Watson; one grandson; and one special nephew.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Advent Christian Church in Prophetstown, followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with Pastor Erik Carlson of Advent Christian Church and the Rev. Jim Jensen of Gateway Faith Fellowship in Fulton officiating. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Oakland Cemetery in Princeton.
