MOUNT CARROLL – Linda Lee Dewey, 69, of Mount Carroll, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at her home.

Linda was born July 20, 1943, in Dixon, the daughter of Frank and Marion (Gonnerman) Scheffler. She married Richard Dewey on Feb. 3, 1962. Linda was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mount Carroll.

Survivors include her husband; five sons, James Dewey of Franklin Grove, Daniel (Michelle) Dewey of Warren, David (Lisa) Dewey of Woosung, Andrew (Jenny) Dewey of Polo and Steven Dewey of Warren; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandson; two sisters, Ann Vaile and Shirley Devine, both of Dixon; and two brothers, Wes (Mary Theresa) Scheffler and John Scheffler, both of Dixon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandchild; one sister, Myrna Heineman; and two brothers, Philip and Melvin Scheffler.

A memorial service was held Dec. 28 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church.

A memorial has been established.
