OTTAWA – Lester L. Farster, 93, of Ottawa, formerly of Dixon, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at LaSalle County Nursing Home after an extended illness. He retired as a purchasing agent in 1982 from Raynor Garage Door.

He was born May 4, 1919, in Woosung, the son of Otto and Anna Farster. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. He married Evelyn Hess on Jan. 8, 1945, in Rock Falls. She preceded him in death on April 9, 2010.

Survivors include a son, Kevin Farster of Ottawa; and a sister, Doris Stutzke of Sterling.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.
