DIXON – Frances L. (Otto) Pitzer, 81, of Dixon, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at Lifehouse Liberty Court in Dixon. She worked at Western Auto, Branson Electric and Shopko prior to her retirement.

Frances was born Feb. 23, 1931, in Dixon, the daughter of Harry G. and Alice E. (Beede) Otto. She married George Emmanuel Pitzer Jr. on July 16, 1950, in Dixon. He preceded her in death on Sept. 13, 1997.

Frances was a lifelong member of St. James EC Church in Dixon, a member of Palmyra Grange 1912 and a former member of the Mi Di Na Homemakers Extension.

Survivors include two brothers, Richard Otto of Eldena and James (Charlotte) Otto of Chillicothe, Ohio; two sisters, Ollie Bernardin of Rochelle and Alice Marie Bowers of Ashton; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Robert “Bobby” Pitzer; her parents; and one brother, Charles Otto.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. James EC Church in Dixon, with the Rev. John Ewing officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.

Memorials have been established to St. James EC Church and Lifehouse Liberty Court.
