MORRISON – It’s a New Year, time to try something new. Add to your social life! Add to your joy of life! No fancy footwork, no special equipment needed. The dress is casual; the music is fun.

So say the Grand Squares of Morrison, who are holding a kick-off event at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Odell Library.

A free potato bar opens at 7 p.m., and the square dance experience begins at 8 p.m.

Families, couples, singles, ages 8 to 88 – all are welcome. The Grand Squares will provide dance partners.

They need a head count to makes sure they have enough taters, so those planning to attend are asked to call Butch and Ann VanderSchaaf, 815-772-3616, or Marilyn Johnson, 815-772-7065.

If weather forces a cancellation, the event will allemande right over to Jan. 14.
