ROCK FALLS – Carolyne R. Long, 67, of Rock Falls, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at her home.

She was born July 17, 1945, in Decatur, a daughter of Clarence and Frances Ruth (Campbell) Dale. She married Guy Long II on Aug. 25, 1967, in Henry. He preceded her in death on Dec. 26, 2000. She worked at Coil Craft for 7 years and retired in 2006.

Surviving are her daughter, Mary Frances Zigler of Rock Falls; her sons, Guy (Laurie) Long III and James Long, both of Sterling, Roger Long of Rock Falls, and Raymond (Heather) Long of Morrison; her sisters, Kaye Bartz of Sterling and Betty Whitely of Rock Falls; her brother, Larry Dale of Independence, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Shanda Jackson, Kelsey Long, Vanessa Long, Porscha Zigler, Catalina Zigler, Alaska Johnson, Georgya Johnson, Alexis Schroth and Nathaniel McPhillips; and one great-grandchild, Noah Schultheis.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

The family wishes to offer a very special thanks to Lyneta Rourke for her compassion shown to the family during Carolyne’s illness. Per her request, Carolyne’s remains will be donated to medical science followed by cremation.
