Walnut Public Library plans classes

WALNUT – Adult enrichment classes will take place this winter at the Walnut Public Library, 101 Heaton St.

The following classes are at 9:30 a.m. Saturdays and cost $10:

■ Jan. 12: Calligraphy class, covering the basics of calligraphy. All materials are provided.

■ Jan. 26: Loom knitting; instruction includes how to cast on the loom, stocking stitch, and pearl stitch. Participants must provide their own looms and yarn. The class will make a scarf and matching hat.

■ Feb. 9: Woodcarving covers basic techniques, which will involve making a wood spirit. All materials are provided.

■ Feb. 23: Paper beads consists of working with a variety of beads, sizes, and shapes, as well as techniques for stringing the beads to make jewelry. All materials will be provided.

A CPR class will be at 9:30 a.m. March 9 at the Walnut Community Building, 129 Main St. The cost is $30 per individual or $40 for couples. The class is suitable for those seeking certification or re-certification.

Payment for classes must be made at the time of registration.
