Rock Falls salvages seventh place in consolation at State Farm Classic

Prophets advance to own title tilt

The Prophetstown Prophets routed Orion 50-20 Friday to advance to the championship game of their own tournament.

Cassie Reiley scored 15 points, Riley Walters had 14, and Corrie Reily chipped in eight as the Prophets (17-1) led 26-12 by halftime and never looked back.

Proviso East 47, West Carroll 35: The Thunder were outscored 23-17 in the second half of a third-round game at the Prophetstown tournament.

Kaylee Vos scored 14 points and Ieshia Larson added 10 for West Carroll (2-9). Tia Barlow led Proviso East with a game-high 18 points.

State Farm Classic

Rock Falls 49, Camp Point Central 36: The Rockets stormed to an 11-0 lead after one period in the seventh-place consolation game in Normal.

Jordan Giddings led Rock Falls (7-10) with 18 points, and Kara Nehrkorn added 13. Madison Steinkamp led Central with 12 points.

St. Joseph Ogden 43, Newman 39, OT: The Comets rallied from down 36-30 entering the fourth period to force overtime, but couldn't sustain the momentum in the fifth-place consolation game.

Rachel Hageman scored a game-high 15 points for the Comets (10-6), while Ashley Landis and Bailey Trimble led Ogden with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Dixon tournament

Aurora Christian 49, Dixon 38: Brooke Bailey scored 17 points and Kari Wolfe added 11 for the Duchesses (5-10) in a consolation bracket loss to the Eagles.

For Aurora Christian, Alyssa Andersen had 17 points and Alex Hultine added 12.

In their second game of the day, Bailey dropped 23 on Stillman Valley as the Duchesses won 44-27, pulling away from a 17-16 halftime lead. Haley Wenburg paced Stillman (3-12) with 13 points.

Eastland 61, Stillman Valley 58: Lexis Macomber scored 16 points and Hannah Hake added 10 for the Cougars (12-4) in a win over the Cardinals.

Sydney Shelbourne scored 21 points to lead Stillman.

Amboy tournament

Amboy 51, Paw Paw 43: Six Clippers scored at least four points as Amboy led throughout in a win at their own tournament.

Autumn Smith scored 16 points and Kaitlyn Liebing had 15 for Amboy (7-7).

Indian Creek 56, AFC 53, OT: The Raiders rallied from a 38-26 deficit after three quarters to force overtime, but were outscored 11-8 in the extra frame.

Alisyn Essex led AFC (6-6) with 18 points, and Sarah Matson added 16. Samantha Mosley scored 20 for Indian Creek.

Erie tournament

Mercer County 40, Bureau Valley 37: Nicole Bornsheuer had 15 points and Heaven Bennett added 12 for the Storm (1-15) in a loss to the Golden Eagles.

Ridgewood 59, Morrison 55: Chelsea Eads' 23 points weren't enough to send the Fillies to victory at Erie.

Lakin Goodman added nine points and Adrienne Banks chipped in eight for Morrison (2-12), which was outscored 43-39 after the opening quarter. Ashley Collins led Ridgewood with 20 points.

Stockton 56, Fulton 41: The Steamers were outscored 31-17 in the second half of a loss in Erie.

Morgan Sanquist scored 15 points for Fulton (6-12), while Katherine Wayne added 12 and Morgan Wierema had 10.

Erie 49, Knoxville 48, OT: The Cardinals rallied from a 31-15 halftime deficit, outscoring Knoxville 5-4 in overtime to win at their own tournament.

Rachel Cobert led Erie (11-5) with 18 points, and Courtney Cobert added 11.
