Grand Squares to start year with dance

MORRISON – Grand Squares of Morrison will host a kick-off event at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Odell Public Library, 307 S. Madison St.

A free potato bar will start at 7 p.m., and the free square dance experience will be at 8 p.m. Dress is casual. There will not be any fancy footwork nor special elquipment.

Families, couples, and singles are welcome. The group will provide partners for dancing; the optimum ages are 8 to 88.

Lessons will continue on Mondays through Apjril with a cost of $5 each time. Payment can be made in advance.

Those planning to attend Monday’s event are ssked to call Burt and Ann VanderSchaaf at 815-772-3616 or Marilyn Johnson at 815-772-7065 so there will be enough food.
