The Nativity scene is important in young children’s lives. When our children were young, they enjoyed being driven around town to see and enjoy the Nativity scenes. As adults, they now speak of those special evenings they had.

Oh, by the way, Mr. Fichter, the day after reading your comments in your article, I happened to observe Nativity scenes in front of several churches, contrary to your letter on Dec. 15. You certainly have a right to your beliefs, but do let us believers have ours. 

The government has tried to take religion out of so many public places without the majority of the people approving. Following the recent murders of 20 innocent children in school, imagine a child writing a letter to God as follows.
