Karen M. Kreger

DIXON – Karen Marlene Kreger, 76, of Dixon, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, at Serenity Hospice & Home in Oregon. She was an electrical inspector for Sundstrand in Rockford for 34 years, retiring in 1999. 

Karen was born Dec. 27, 1935, in Compton, the daughter of Curtis and Evelyn (Walters) Brickey. She married Robert Kreger on Oct. 6, 1956, in Dixon. Karen was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Dixon. Family was the most important thing to Karen. She enjoyed working outside, gardening, birding, walking the dog, reading, and working on puzzles.  

Survivors include her husband, Robert Kreger of Dixon; two sons, Michael (Deborah) Kreger of West Lafayette, Ind., and Mark (Joyce) Kreger of Dixon; one daughter, Diane (Robert) Yeoward of Rock Falls; one brother, Keith Brickey of Bloomingdale; three sisters, Betty Bay and Peggy (John) Dowding, both of Dixon, and Kathy (Gary) Gerdes of Clinton, Iowa; five grandchildren, Jessica and Jennifer Yeoward, Tiffany (Brian) Willstead, Jarrett (Lora) Ludwig, and Amanda Kreger; and six great-grandchildren, Brody, Ayden, and Kyler Willstead, Abby Johnson, Zaiden Petersen, and Kelsie Ludwig.
