ROCKFORD – Bernadine Rita Vock Getzendaner Blum of Rockford, formerly of Polo, 91, passed away Friday, Dec. 21, 2012.  

She was born Dec. 16, 1921, in Coleta, the daughter of Edward Francis Vock and Gertrude Agnes (Marschang) Vock Dieterle. Bernadine was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Polo, where she had a pre-funeral memorial service Monday.

She also was a member and past president of St. Mary Altar and Rosary Society; past president of White Pines Town and Country Club of Polo; past officer of the Ogle County Health Improvement Association; past officer in the Merry Martha Club of Leaf River; member of Women of the Moose Chapter 485 of Mount Morris; and member of American Legion Auxiliary 0083 of Polo.

She is survived by her two daughters, Eleanor (Ronald) Heidenreich of Rockford and Mary (Laurence) Clothier of Mount Morris; one son, Michael (Brenda) Getzendaner of Polo; six granddaughters; two grandsons; seven great-granddaughters; six great-grandsons; and three great-great-grandchildren. She also is survived by three sisters, Loretta Carroll and Dorothy Clothier, both of Polo, and Ruth Forristall of Ohio; and a brother, Francis Vock of Polo. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Leo William Getzendaner of Mount Morris and later of Leaf River, and Warren Henry Blum of Polo; sisters, Mary Catherine (Vock) Hodge, formerly of Sterling, and Eileen (Vock) Wright, formerly of East Peoria.  

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., followed by the memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Polo, with the Rev. Louis Tosto officiating. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Sterling. Gasparini & Oliveri Funeral Home in Rockford handled arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
