ROCKTON – Janet Louise Carlock Heintz, 73, of Rockton, died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at her home after a lengthy illness.

She was born April 27, 1939, in Chicago, to Woodrow and Vina (Davis) Carlock and was raised in the Sterling/Rock Falls area. She married William Heintz on June 23, 1963, in Rockford. She was the owner of Ye Olde Pub in Rockton for 21 years, where she made a lot of special friends.

She is survived by her husband, William, of Rockton; children, Shelly (Darren) Gaudette of Rockton, Cindy Cady of Sycamore, and William Heintz of Roscoe; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Donna Portner and Alice (Alfred) Anderson; brother, Frederick (Linda) Rogalski; special cousins, Sherrie (Bill) Lux and Cliff Davis; many nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Jessie Wedwick, and her family, who helped Janet through her last illness.

Janet also leaves behind her loving dog, Chase.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Wendy Jaeger; and sister, Patricia Larson.

Graveside ceremonies will be at noon Friday at Rockton Township Cemetery, 600 West St., Rockton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
