Wilma A. Johnson

PROPHETSTOWN – Wilma A. Johnson, 92, of Prophetstown, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center in Prophetstown. She and her husband farmed, and ran the Prophet Hotel for 8 years; she also worked for Drummert’s Hardware in Prophetstown.

She was born May 26, 1920, in Rock Falls, to Frank and Jenny (Oltmann) Plautz. She married Orval W. Johnson on Aug, 9, 1939, in Rock Falls. He died May 18, 1996.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Prophetstown.

She is survived by daughters Nyla (Joe) Pavelec of Green Lake, Wis. and Karen (Dan) Buck of Prophetstown; sons Orval (Connie) Johnson, Ron (Joan) Johnson and Denny (Sally) Johnson, all of Prophetstown: 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a grandaughter; sisters Hazel Sandrock and Marie Polte, and brothers Herman, Walter, Johnny, Harold and Delbert Plautz.

Visitation is 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, follwed by the funeral at 11 a.m., at First Lutheran Church in Prophetstown. The Rev. Greg Olson, pastor of First Lutheran, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown.

Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church or Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center, both in Prophetstown.
