Manlius firefighters elect new officers

MANLIUS – Manlius firefighters met for their annual December supper recently at the Manlius Lutheran Church.

Aaron Roush, president, conducted the meeting. Officers elected for 2013 were Roush, fire chief; Rob Allen, assistant chief; Bob Neahring, first lieutenant; Chris Maynard, second lieutenant; Justin Doty, president; B.J. Jensen, vice president; and Mary Hartz, secretary-treasurer.

Neahring was recognized for 14 years as fire chief. Samantha Neahring’s name was submitted for application for membership, and will be voted on at the next meeting.

Royal Neighbors of America Chapter 1491 sent a card and check for the use of the department’s meeting room. Lester Kropf and First Baptist Church of Manlius sent donation checks.

A check for $150 was given to United Way for Christmas toys for kids.

Jensen, Hartz, and Ben Doty won attendance awards.

The next regular meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 10 at the fire house on Maple Avenue. Jensen and Larry Rowland will be the lunch committee

The Christmas party will be at 6 p.m. Jan. 18 at the Prime Quarter, 250 Backbone Road East, Princeton..
