FORT MYERS, Fla. – Dale A. Presley, 77, of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Dixon, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at his home after a sudden illness. He was a State Farm agent for 37 years before retiring.

He was born Oct. 22, 1935, in Pekin, the son of Ellsworth and Meta (German) Presley. Dale was a veteran of the Army. He married Judith Baker on Sept. 22, 1958, in Pekin.

He was a member of First Christian Church in Dixon and Elks.

Dale had been a member and past president of KSB Hospital Board of Directors, Rock River Life Underwriters,; Dixon Chamber of Commerce, Dixon Community Trust, and Dixon Rotary Club.

He is survived by his wife; son, Gary (Susan) Presley of Dixon; daughter, Charlene (John) Devine of Fort Myers; and grandchildren, Joseph and Elizabeth Presley of Dixon and Justin and Jason Devine of Fort Myers.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Jones Funeral Home in Dixon. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First Christian Church in Dixon, with the Rev. Lynn Bond officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon.

A memorial has been established.
