Police: Man sold marijuana and prescription drugs to informant

STERLING – Bond was set at $40,000 Thursday for a Sterling man who police say sold marijuana and prescriptions drugs to an informant in October.

Christopher D. Eckhardt, 37, turned himself in about 8:15 a.m. and was charged with delivery of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school, delivery of marijuana, delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, and delivery of a controlled substance.

His preliminary hearing is Dec. 27.

Eckhardt sold about 116 grams – 4.1 ounces – of marijuana worth $320 to an informant on Oct. 17, and $40 worth of prescription drugs to an informant on Oct. 30, both times near St. Mary’s Grade School in Sterling, police say.
