DIXON – Lee V. Murray, 94, of Dixon, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at Dixon Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. He worked in the maintenance department at Sauk Valley Community College in Dixon before retiring.

Lee was born July 30, 1918, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Edmond and Eva (Lee) Murray. He married Genevieve Riley on July 30, 1945, in Rockford. She preceded him in death on Nov. 15, 2010.   

Survivors include two daughters, Sharon (Joseph) Rogers, and Karen (John) Hess, both of Sterling; two sisters, Loretta Bennett and Gladys Moore; two brothers, Virgil (Audrey) Murray and Roland (Betty) Murray; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, John Murray; and two sisters, Beulah Johnson, and Karma Weidman.

Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m., followed by the funeral at 3 p.m., Sunday at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon, with the Rev. Vincent O. Marrandino, director of pastoral care at KSB Hospital in Dixon, officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.

A memorial has been established.
