James W. ‘Dick’ Camps
STERLING – James W. “Dick” Camps, 90, of Sterling, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at Coventry Living Center in Sterling. He farmed north of Sterling his entire life.
James was born March 4, 1922, in Sterling, the son of William and Gretchen (Oltmans) Camps. He married Jewell Hawkins on Nov. 27, 1946, in Sterling. She preceded him in death on May 31, 2005. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Sterling.
Survivors include one daughter, Karen (Kris) Nielsen of Gonvick, Minn.; one son, William (Diane) Camps of Sterling; five grandchildren, Jaime Camps Blakeslee, Ryan Camps, Cody Camps, Dane Nielsen, and Devin Nielson; and two great-grandchildren, Parker Blakeslee and Mason Camps.
