DIXON – A search of a Dixon home Wednesday night turned up a shotgun, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia and led to the arrest of two brothers.

Salvatore Ferlauto, 50, was arrested on a Dixon warrant for delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a church and delivery of a controlled substance.

Bond was set at $5,000. He has a Jan. 9 court date.

Joseph Ferlauto, 47, was arrested on a warrant for possession of a firearm without a Firearm Owner’s Identification Card and possession of firearm ammunition, both misdemeanors.

He was released on a recognizance bond and will be back in court today.

Salvatore Ferlauto sold Xanax to an informant in October within 1,000 feet of Calvary Baptist Church, and last month, Joseph Ferlauto sold a 22-caliber handgun and ammunition to an informant, police say.

Detective Sgt. Matt Richards said police were tipped to “activity” at the house at 409 College Ave.

Police searched their home about 7 p.m. Wednesday and found the shotgun, less than 10 grams of marijuana, and two pipes, Richards said.

Other family members living at the house were not arrested, he said.

The brothers lived in the Mount Carroll area until a few months ago, Richards said.
