RRC welcomes local pupils

OREGON – Rock River Center, 810 S. 10th St., opened a new Community Technology Center.

Free computer lessons are available for adults of all ages from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

The center will be closed Tuesday.

Help is available for beginners and those with some experience. The staff will use the Microsoft Digital Literacy Curriculum to teach how to access the Internet, send email, create a resume, and other skills.

Visitors will receive a certificate after completing the self-paced program.

Registration is not required; people may drop in at their convenience.

The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity awarded a grant to RRC to develop the center.
