Dukes lose in bowling, but Duchesses roll

With Steven Armoska under the weather and out of the lineup, the Rock Falls Rockets couldn’t keep up with Winnebago, losing 79-56 on Tuesday on the road.

The Indians jumped out to a 30-15 lead after one period and didn’t look back in the Big Northern West tilt.

Jace Anderson hit three 3s and led Rock Falls (7-3, 0-2) with 19 points, while Austin Donoho chipped in 18. Jacoby Posley led Winnebago (9-0, 2-0) with 20 and hit two of its 10 3s.

It was easy to get distracted by the performance of it all. The active shooter drill held by Sterling and County Police last week at the high school. The scenario; two armed shooters in the school killing students and teachers and the police and medical technician's response. It's an unfortunate drill, but a necessary one.
