Celebrate Christmas as Jesus’ birthday
This newspaper regularly announces the births of babies. But Jesus’ birth was announced by an angel. “For unto you is born this day … a Savior, who is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:11). The angel called Jesus “a Savior, … Christ the Lord.” After Jesus lived a perfect life and died for our sins, his resurrection from the dead proved he truly is God, qualified to be our savior.
Whether or not you celebrate Christmas as Jesus’ birthday, it’s important to understand Jesus came to be your savior because God loves you. You need to believe his sacrifice on the cross paid for your sins. (If you don’t receive him as your savior, someday you will face him as your judge. Then your sins will separate you from God forever.)
Someday Jesus will establish his righteous kingdom on earth and will receive the honor that he deserves. Will you be part of his kingdom? Don’t miss out.
