Area programs were enjoyed and appreciated

On Dec. 11, a potluck for December birthdays was held at the Rock River Center in Oregon. So, a potluck – but this was special, no ordinary stuff.

The Line Dancers, with intricate footwork, danced to Christmas music. A couple’s dancing was most enjoyable – the gentleman with a white tuxedo, maroon vest and white top hat (whew, it looked wonderful), and the lady had a lovely maroon gown with high-heeled shoes, a white fur cape and muff. Such a surprisingly pleasant change of pace throughout the entire program. Many thanks.

On Dec. 12, the Rahn Middle School eighth-graders performed at the center. They’re a special group of talented young students with Mr. Beski playing and Mr. Lauer conducting. It was very enjoyable. Much credit goes to the instructors as well as the students for their exceptional diligence.

Good or bad? Depends on who you ask

Sometimes readers ask for more good news in the paper. They say we in the media only cover the bad. But one person's positive is another's negative.

My kind of game

I would have gladly paid to take in the game I covered Saturday morning in Morrison.
