DIXON – Dorothy Mae Hays, 92, of Dixon, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at Dixon Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She worked at Freeman Shoe Factory before retiring.

Dorothy was born Aug. 25, 1920, in Salem, the daughter of Nelson and Lavina (Roberts) Hays.  

Survivors include her daughter, Doris Caudle of Dixon; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon, with the Rev. Mike Worrell, pastor of Lincoln Avenue Church of God, officiating. Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon handled arrangements.

Memorials have been established to Happy Tails Animal Shelter and the Alzheimer’s Association.
