AFC 69, LaMoille-Ohio 41: Sarah Matson was deadly from long range in scoring a 26 points in a nonconference game in Ashton.

The AFC senior hit six 3s, and sophomore Alisyn Essex added 20 points for the Raiders (5-4), who led 37-18 at the half.

Kewanee 61, Bureau Valley 19: The Boilermakers evened their Three Rivers record with a convincing victory in Manlius.

The Storm slipped to 1-11 overall and 0-5 in the conference, while Kewanee moved to 7-6, 3-3.

Sterling 5th, Dixon 6th in DeKalb: It took finishing with a big bang for the Golden Warriors to hold off Dixon and place fifth in a meet chock full of state title hopefuls.

Sterling, led by Amber Granzow's 1,194 six-game series, good for 12th individually, threw a 943 in the sixth game after enduring 10 splits and an 831 in the penultimate game.

Granzow struck in three of the last four frames in the finale, her future college roommate Samantha Lewis ended with a five-bagger, and Brandy Behrens finished with a hambone. The Golden Warriors' 5,473 total pins were 75 more than Dixon's 5,398. Devan Gearhart led the Duchesses with a 1,248 six-game series, good for sixth individually.

Waubonsee Valley ran away with the title, its 6,031 total besting Jefferson by 148 pins.
