ROCK FALLS – Vera Louise Eades, 94, of Rock Falls died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at her home.

Vera was born May 16, 1918, in Decatur, the daughter of Lester and Caddie (Roderick) Deardorff. She married Don L. Eades on March 13, 1937, in Newport, Ind. Her beloved husband died March 26, 2010. Vera was a member of First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ in Rock Falls, and was very active with her grandchildren. She was an avid bowler for 50 years, enjoyed playing bridge and golf, and was involved with the CGH Auxiliary.

Survivors include one daughter, Sharon (Edward) Gale of Rock Falls; one sister-in-law, Lucille Deardorff of Decatur; one brother-in-law, Gary (Sue) Eades of Decatur; five grandchildren, Rene (Jed) Walrath, Trisha (Ryan) Hippen, Jason (Jennifer) Gale, Jack (Tammy) Eades, and Cheri (John) Siebken; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by one son, Donald; one daughter-in-law, Donna; two brothers; and three sisters.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Ave., Rock Falls. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Congregational Church, UCC, 905 Dixon Ave., Rock Falls, with the Rev. Allen Campbell officiating. Burial will be at Coloma Township Cemetery in Rock Falls.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to First Congregational Church, UCC and Hospice of the Rock River Valley.
