ROCK FALLS – Thomas Swords, 53, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at Rock Falls Rehabilitation & Health Care Center. He was a self-employed small engine repair man.  

Thomas was born May 1, 1959, in Sterling, the son of Raymond and Shirley (Burger) Swords. 

Survivors include his mother of Rock Falls; two sisters, Virginia (Michael) George of Buford, Ga., and Nina (Thomas) Peters of Forreston; and one brother, Walter Swords of Del City, Okla.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 10 to 10:30 a.m., followed by the memorial service at 10:30 a.m., Monday at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls, with the Rev. Les Funderberg of First Open Bible Church officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
