Senior Rachel Hageman, 17, of Dixon, is Newman Central Catholic High School’s November Student of the Month. She is the daughter of Larry and Sue Hageman of Dixon; her brother is Matt Hageman, 22, and her sister is Kate Hageman, 20, both students at Illinois State University. The family has a golden retriever named Allie, too.

Favorite class: Calculus. I love math, and it’s always come easy to me, so it’s always been my favorite subject.

Favorite teachers: Diana Wade, algebra, and Ann Propheter, calculus. They’re both so smart, and I really respect them as my math teachers.
